Currently, our MODX system is being manufactured in Scotland inside of our own facility.
Our, operations, sales and development office is located in Escondido, CA.
MODX systems will take 5 months to build to completion from the initial date of deposit.MODX is currently developing a production line to shorten this lead time in the future.
The beginning of Q3. This will be a complete extraction and processing plant with our proprietary membrane modules available for live demonstrations and licensing / sales opportunities. At the plant, offices, canteens, chillers and more will be built on site.
The process extraction and membrane modules are enclosed within containers for ease of shipping and assembly on site. (Yellow, green, grey and brown and purple as referenced in the picture below). Red areas are site built concrete lift shafts. Blue areas are offices.
Depending on your processing capacity needs, the complete MODX system consists between 20 – 30 containers for the core process modules.
Our MODX site processing equipment is approximately 98 ft x 148 m. The full site with offices and vehicle parking will be larger at 426 Ft x 266 Ft based on your personal needs.
Design details are consistent with CGMP compliance. Containers are waterproof, and temperature controlled where required.
Estimated installed power is approximately 500 kW, Operational power consumption to be confirmed but estimated at 250kWh
Our CO2 loop operates continuously. Each basket of biomass is extracted for a total of two hours in high pressure vessels.
A maximum of 4 weeks is needed on prepared foundations. An additional 8 weeks is estimated for system calibration based on your desired output materials and bi-product processing.
Our current estimated electrical cost average will be $900/day + CO2 $745/day depending on your local utility costs.
Operational staff costs are to be determined based on your personal company goals.
48 baskets of biomass per 24 hours. Output = 85 kg / hr of oil.
Currently the standard MODX system produces 3 core output products. CBD Oil, Terpenes & Waxes. Additional products can be created with modules like isolated cannabinoid crystals, isolated terpenes and whole plant materials like bast, hurd and micro fraction powders from decortication.
Depending on your input material, MODX users can expect a 90% concentration of CBD per kilo of end oil product based on 10% CBD input biomass.
Currently, terpenes are not separated but MODX can offer a broad amount of optional modules once your base system is operational.
Currently, CBD concentration is the base output for the system. However, temperature and pressure controls are customizable along with our filtration membranes can be set for additional cannabinoid concentrations.
$31 / estimated per hr.
Between 10-20 depending on your layout and input capacity.
Approximately 3.5 kg per hr.
An 8% moisture level is required for processing biomass in the forms of shucked, pelletized or ground powder.
Whole plant input is possible with additional automated trimmer, decortication and quick drying modules.
4 heating and cooling pumps provide more than adequate temperature control for the extraction process. 3 are used during processing with 1 on standby.
400+ kW’s is the heating and cooling load which provides 115 tons of refrigeration.
35 tons of refrigeration is provided per chiller.
MODX chillers provide 160 kW heating + 120 kW of cooling for a total input energy of 38kW.
3 chillers are used during processing accounting for 115kW/h power consumption = $18/hour.
Our chillers are designed for heating and cooling of the ovens which range between 5-125 deg Cel.
Our chillers are not used for winterization as we have a proprietary extraction membrane technology replacing this step.
Our oven system is continuously operating 24 hrs per day.
6 baskets per oven.
Our ovens heat between 0 to 100 deg cel.
Depending on your internal SOP’s, our recommendations are a minimum of one time per day for exterior cleaning. Internal cleaning and purging of the system is done with full automation.
Internal cleaning is run continuously to prevent any buildup or processing contamination.
Yes, our system automatically purges and cleans the baskets between processing cycles.
The main hazards are the pressure chambers and valves due to our systems high pressure operation. Some areas of the system are high temperature as well, so staff is advised to use mandatory safety procedures and precautions when operating the machinery.
Heating and cooling is balanced as much as possible within the process and external heating or cooling minimized by the use of heat pumps integral to the process.
It is highly unlikely you will see any condensation build up on the system. If this is noticed, further investigation may be required as it could be an internal or environmental condition causing this to happen.
